Continuing with yesterday’s revelation that part of Jesus’ “It is finished” declaration is we now are able to live in the New Covenanet with the Father, I want to show how Jesus completed everything necessary to buy our freedom.

We are free because one of the things we’ve been freed from is the penalty of sin – “For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.” ~ Hebrews‬ ‭9:15‬

The reason we are free from the penalty of sin is because Jesus PAID IN FULL the penalty. “Paid in full” is another use for the Greek word “tetelestai.”

Today’s Good News is all of our sin (past, present, and future sin) has been covered – forgiven. That is truly amazing.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.” ~ 1 John 1:9

This is a one time confession, when we, by faith through grace, accept God’s gift of salvation.

After that, we repent from our current sin, but this simply means we acknowledge the sin in our lives hurts us, so we change our thinking, and lean back into the grace of God. We remember that all our sin is already forgiven by the finished work of Jesus, and we praise Him for it because – it is finished!
